The Sexually Oriented Lifestyle:
The what, why, who, and should you of it all
What is a sexually oriented lifestyle? The obvious answer is that it is based mainly on the obtainment of sexual pleasure. However, what is determined to be sexual pleasure is different for each person. Today’s world may be the first time in history that people at any level of society can live a lifestyle based on sexual gratification or gender reorientation that does not also involve the need to be wealthy and/or result in persecution and/or prostitution. In the past, only the rich could afford to be so self-indulgent without total risk of injury, incarceration, ruin, or death. Now, thanks to a more open and accepting society, protective laws, more flexible life roles, expanding career opportunities, working from home, and multiple social safety nets, almost anyone can live such a lifestyle. Indeed, our modern world can be said to promote such lifestyles and self-indulgence. This book is intended to be entertaining and illuminating on some of these trending lifestyles.
To start, what is a sexually oriented lifestyle? The obvious answer is that it is a lifestyle based purely on the obtainment of sexual pleasure. However, what is determined to be sexual pleasure is different for each person. It can be an individual having constant sex with one or many members of the same or opposite gender or self-gratification, as in masturbation. It can involve giving pleasure to others of the same or opposite gender, with the giver receiving pleasure indirectly by the act rather than having their own direct pleasure response. It can be sadistic, bondage, intercourse with sex dolls or machines, and the list is endless. Today’s world may be the first time in history that people at any level of society can live a lifestyle based on sexual gratification or gender reorientation. Indeed, our modern world can be said to promote such lifestyles and the accompanying self-indulgence. Previously, such lifestyles were mainly male-dominated, with women being the subservient participants. But in today’s society, we are finding more and more that the woman is the Alpha dominant and the man the beta submissive. This text deals with sexually oriented lifestyles that are either individualistic or lean more towards this new female dominance.
So, are such lifestyles wrong, sinful, perverted, abnormal, or any of the multiple adjectives that come to mind, or are such lifestyles simply another norm of human nature? Unfortunately, I cannot answer this for every reader. Each person has their own set of moral or socially programmed feelings concerning this. What I can say is that these types of activities have been around since the creation of humankind. I feel that if God was so against such things, God would have eliminated them from the human population at the beginning. Since God did not, we will have to wait until we can talk more directly with God to determine the intent of their inclusion.
Promiscuous sexual activity is not new. Gay or lesbian relationships, fornication, adultery, and a large assortment of behaviors have been around as long as humankind. Humans are, by design or accident, sexual creatures, more especially the male gender. This is essential for a species that is vulnerable to injury and death so that the species does not go extinct but continues to increase in population. This is fine when you are being eaten by sabertooth tigers or killed off by famine or disease. In the more sedentary world of today, where the only predators of concern are other humans, and for most of the world, famine and disease are limited (though not eliminated), it leads to overpopulation. Combine this large population with the accepting and empowering cultures of the first-world nations, and indeed many second and third-world nations, and we get an immense number of humans with varying sexual appetites.
